50 Cent Embarks on 'The Invitation' Tour
You simply can't knock 50 Cent's hustle. After recently trailblazing across Europe playing shows, shooting a movie with Val Kilmer, filming a documentary for VH1 and receiving some not-so-scathing criticism from Shyne, 50 is taking his music back to American soil for a 19-city tour. Called 'The Invitation,' the tour is being billed as an intimate alternative to the heavily attended spectacle that the G-Unit leader usually puts on.

The tour kicks off in Cleveland,Ohio on May 28 and wraps up on June 25 in Atlantic City, N.J. Fans can expect a combination of recent material from 'Before I Self Destruct' mixed in with some of the rapper's classics, such as 'In Da Club' and 'I Get Money.' You may also recall that 50, when hinting at the tour, promised it would be used as an introduction to some new G-Unit blood. There's no word yet on any openers or collaborations planned, though. source

50 Cent maps out summer 2010 tour :
50 Cent tourWriting about hip-hop news is perhaps the hardest thing to do on Earth. Okay, maybe not really, but with details seemingly changing by the hour, it’s a pretty mind-numbing practice. 50 Cent is a prime example of this. Prior to the November 2009 release of Before I Self Destruct, the rapper’s fourth LP had about 13 different release dates, 1400 tracklists, and enough quotes from fellow rappers discussing how “the album would forever change hip-hop as we know it” to fill a book.
Now that Before I Self Destruct is finally out there, 50 is moving onto his next endeavors — a U.S. tour and another studio album (gulp). Starting May 28th, 50 will embark on “The Invitation Tour,” a 19-date trek that will have the rapper visiting medium sized venues through the U.S. until late June. He’ll use the shows to promote Before I Self Destruct as well his next new album, Black Magic, which is apparently due out in the summer.
“I got a joint that I did that was real uptempo,” 50 told British DJ Tim Westwood back in March (via MTV). “It’s a different type of vibe. It’s still 50 Cent. It’s official. If you heard the record, you’d feel different. My Black Magic album, I’ve been listening to different types of music. I just wanna create something that’s outta the box. I’m using different song formats. I’ll write a rap song in the sequence of a different kind of record. A traditional hip-hop record may have three 16-bar verses. To write it in a different formant instead of the way a traditional rap record is written, to experiment with different things, it’s still hip-hop music. It’s still 50 Cent content; it’s just written in a different way.” Sounds good, 50. Can’t wait to listen to it in 2012!

50 Cent Announces The Invitation Tour Beginning May 28
Rapper kicks off 19-date tour in Cleveland

50 Cent tour datesThere's been a bit of confusion about what 50 Cent's next album, Black Magic, might sound like. After initially saying the record was inspired by dance beats he heard at a nightclub in Europe, 50 explained that the disc will still be hip-hop, but with a twist.

Fans might get a chance to hear what he's talking about starting May 28, when 50 will launch The Invitation Tour at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland. The monthlong, 19-date outing will take him across the country to mid-size theaters before winding up with a June 25 show at the House of Blues in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Though some people got it twisted when he initially said he was inspired by more uptempo dance music on the disc, which doesn't have a release date yet, 50 quickly clarified what he meant.

"I got a joint that I did that was real uptempo," 50 told British DJ Tim Westwood back in March. "It's a different type of vibe. It's still 50 Cent. It's official. If you heard the record, you'd feel different. My Black Magic album, I've been listening to different types of music. I just wanna create something that's outta the box. I'm using different song formats. I'll write a rap song in the sequence of a different kind of record. A traditional hip-hop record may have three 16-bar verses. 50 Cent Announces “The Invitation Tour”; Explains New Album
50 Cent will embark on a stateside tour later this year on May 28. The month-long trek, which is being billed as The Invitation Tour, will start at theWolstein Center in Cleveland,Ohio, and hit up some 18 cities before it comes to a close on June 25 in Atlantic City, NJ at the House Of Blues.

The New York rapper has been touring extensively acrossEurope in promotion of his 2009 album Before I Self Destruct, but while talking to radio host Tim Westwood, he took the time to clarify the concept of his forthcoming album,Black Magic. Initial reports suggested that the album would reflect the up-tempo dance music he was inspired by in Europe, however 50 Cent wants his fans to know that his new sound will still be hip-hop; the only thing he is changing is the delivery.

“I just want to create something that’s outta the box,” said 50 Cent. “It ain’t the same style, same kinda music. I’m using different song formats. I’ll write a rap song in a sequence of a different kind of record…To write it in a different format, instead of writing it the way the traditional rap record is written, it’s to experiment with different things. It’s still hip-hop music, still 50 Cent content, it’s just written in a different way.” article source

50 Cent Biography (Short bio on 50 Cent) :
Born Curtis James Jackson III in Queens, NY, superstar hardcore rapper 50 Cent -- more than any of his contemporaries -- lived out the mythology of the "urban gangsta," to such a degree that he's quite fortunate to be alive, let alone a pop-culture superstar. The product of 50 cent merchandisea broken home, 50 Cent survived stabbings, shootings, crack dealing, multiple incarcerations, and many other calamities and near-misses, and then drew lyrically from his own violent personal history, using this authentic material (with the help of Run-D.M.C.'s Jam Master Jay and Eminem) to establish himself as one of the most important rap acts of the early 21st century. 50 Cent's albums Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2003) and The Massacre (2005) thrived on the songster's outstanding hooks, clever lyrics, and superlative production values; consequently, each album sold several million copies and turned the rapper into an American icon. The musician's look also turned heads: tall, rippled, and tattooed, frequently sporting a bulletproof vest and a large pistol, he became the newest spokesperson for the "gangsta" subculture.

The leap from rap superstardom to movie stardom can be a short one, as Ice-T and Ice Cube demonstrated. Although 50 Cent launched his cinematic career as an onscreen subject -- in the 2003 documentaries 50 Cent: The New Breed and 50 Cent: Unauthorized -- Shoot First -- he soon branched out into more challenging material. In 2005, 50 Cent headlined a gritty big-screen biopic of his own life, Get Rich or Die Tryin', directed by My Left Foot helmer Jim Sheridan. In that movie, the rapper hearkened back to his given name, with billing as Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson. In 2008, he went on to co-star in the cop thriller Righteous Kill, directed by Jon Avnet, with legendary actors Robert De Niro and Al Pacino as a pair of Manhattan cops on the trail of a serial murderer. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide .... 50 Cent Bio Source
